A sprawling Lenox Hill townhouse with a colorful ownership history and a two-story bulletproof atrium has hit the market asking $36 million.

The 36-foot-wide home at 157 East 70th Street has over 10,000 square feet of space with two bedrooms on the third floor and a large master suite on the fourth floor. The property also boasts an elevator, a media room and four wood-burning fireplaces.

It is listed with Brown Harris Stevens’ Paula Del Nunzio, according to the listing, spotted by Curbed. Its owners have included Conde Nast publisher Si Newhouse – who designed it to house his extensive art collection – as well as Russian arms dealer Dimitry Streshinsky. It is currently owned by media titan Robert Sillerman, who bought it for $3.1 million in 1994. [Curbed]Hiten Samtani
