Buzzfeed editor buys mansion in Harlem

Being a journalist has suddenly become profitable.
Being a journalist has suddenly become profitable.

Who knew that working for Buzzfeed could actually make you like real money? According to 6sqft, Mark Schoofs, the investigations and projects editor at Buzzfeed (who won a Pulitzer in 2000 for a series on AIDs in Africa) has purchased a $2.25 million townhouse in Harlem. We’re going to guess he would fail Slate’s “Are You A Gentrifier?” quiz.

The massive house at 20 West 131st Street is only seven years old, and is on six floors with six bedrooms and six baths. There’s also a ton of backyard space, with three balconies, a terrace, and a duplex roof deck. One of the balconies has a gas line installed that is ready to hook up to a barbecue (company parties anyone?).
