Have your cake and wear it too: Kate Spade teams up with Magnolia Bakery

Because it is far easier for fashionistas to stay slim by playing with their food instead of eating it, New York-based accessories maker Kate Spade — whose firm has been operating at a loss thus far this year — has teamed up with New York-based confection creator, Magnolia Bakery to launch a cupcake-inspired Big Apple collaboration.

00Its a sweet deal for trendsetters, as the collection is sprinkled with a “cupcake box tote, banana pudding crossbody bag, an illustrated tote and a cookbook clutch.” It debuts in October.

The site Luxury Trump reports that Deborah Lloyd, president and chief creative officer of Kate Spade New York, told WWD about the collection recently, saying, “the Kate Spade New York girl has a strong appetite for a novelty piece and a conversation starter.”

Luxury Trump also reports, that Karlie Kloss will head the campaign named ‘a cast of modern heroines,’ and be photographed at the Pierre Hotel along with “Anh Duong, writer Karley Sciortino, singer Alice Smith and redheaded twins Juliet and Elise Marold.”

While we assume the tony collection will not be #NomNom-inally priced, no word on cost is available.
