There’s nothing we like more than a good sale, especially on pricey real estate. Originally on the market for a balked-at $55 million, this bayfront five-bedroom, four-and-a-half bathroom property built “to resemble an old world estate” has recently changed brokerage hands and as a result has been priced at $39.55 million.
Located on tony North Haven, “a verdant peninsula surrounded by the Noyac Bay, the Shelter Island Sound and Sag Harbor Bay,” Curbed Hamptons explains, “the house itself is very handsome with plenty of attractive stonework.” Plus it comes with a private sandy beach.
However, in life even the rich much make sacrifices; while the compound includes a separate “additional 4.2 acre waterfront building lot” it does not include a tennis court, pool or boat dock.
Curbed also relays that commenters, while smitten with the exterior, were quick to criticize the interiors with snarky little barbs such as, “Oh dear, sweet exterior but these folks have a crude concept of baronial splendor and stuffed it all in. Show this house empty and perhaps it might sell but far from their delusions.”
