The Astor Place residence of the late real estate shark, Richard Fisher and his wife Kristen Kelly Fisher — a 10-room, 4,156-square foot penthouse with wraparound terrace — just sold for $14 million.
Complete with three bedrooms, four baths, a master suite with dual dressing rooms, a study with a wood burning fireplace and a coffee station, the recently-sold pad at 445 Lafayette Street has the added bonus of coming with its own minibar.
Perhaps the Fishers’ spirit animal really was the fish; the apartment’s 360-degree views of New York City and its floor-to-ceiling windows give it the feeling of a very luxe aquarium (sans water, of course). Which is totally fitting — and very meta — considering one of the apartment’s biggest claims to fame is that it has been housing a much-talked about 1,100-gallon tank filled with the couple’s finned friends.
Purchased in 2005 for a mere $9.67 million in 2005, the unit swam onto the market in 2014 for $16 million, but closed recently for $2 million less. No word about where the fish will be relocated.
