The former Los Angeles home of the late-Charlton Heston, movie star and major fan of guns, has just hit the market for $12.5 million, Curbed reports. There’s no word on whether or not the place has a shooting range. The home in Coldwater Canyon has been owned by the Heston family since it was built for them in 1959, and this is the first time it has ever gone on the market.
Though there is no official listing for the property yet, Curbed reports that it sits on five acres, has five bedrooms, six and a half bathrooms, a library, marble bar, a three-story artist’s studio with a screening room, bedroom, bathroom and its own elevator (we guess Heston thought that was necessary after playing Michelangelo), a driveway that can fit ten cars, a swimming pool and a tennis court.
The home is also beautiful, and seems to feature some pretty spectacular views of the surrounding area.
