Everyday can be #Caturday in this “purrfect” Soho loft on the market for $23.25 million.
The Wall Street Journal reports this high tech dream home, located at 50 Wooster Street, is full of surprises. The biggest of which may be a super-secret cat tunnel designed by owner and art consultant Sara Tecchia for her three cats to go from the kitchen to the litter box in her pantry.
Though the placement of the litter box is slightly unappetizing, the all-white 4,800-square foot, three-bedroom unit has other noteworthy marvels like a powder room with walls that change color (rich people get bored). The bedrooms also feature gadgets like a motorized headboard that can switch the bed’s orientation — facing the fireplace in winter and the 550-square foot terrace in summer — and two single beds that slide together to form a king-size bed in the guest room.
Tecchia purchased the apartment back in 2010 for a mere $7.45 million prior to her gut renovation and custom furniture design. After deciding to move to California, she placed the unit on the rental market for a whopping $40,000 per month.
However when potential renters asked about marking changes to the somewhat unusual features in the apartment, she decided to list her self-made masterpiece for sale, offering this rather catty remark: “If you’re looking to change, you’re not getting it.” Meow, indeed!
