Meet the Flintstones: Bentley will now offer stone accented interiors

For all our technological advancements, there is ample evidence that all society really wants to do is return to the stone age.

Take the latest innovation from Bentley, maker of the world’s fasted SUV and go-to brand for James Bond-wannabes. The company announced today that they will now offer stone accented interiors for your dashboard. Because wood and leather are just soooo 2015.

The press release from Bentley details that the stone is “sustainably sourced” from quarries in Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh, India, which they picked because it has an “ancient and rich culture of stone masonry.” If you do choose to go this route, you can pick from four “colors” : Galaxy, Autumn White, Terra Red and Copper.

Geoff Dowding, Director of Mulliner Operations at Bentley commented, “Stone veneers are another first for Bentley – but only the beginning of what we plan to do with this luxurious and unique material.” We can only imagine what that means, but we really hope it involves a car that looks like Fred Flintstone’s.
