For a mere $8.5M, you can live in an “Island in the Sky”

Water Mill mega-estate “Island in the Sky” — named because it is set at the highest elevation in the Hamptons — sure has a colorful past. Designed by architect Setsuo Ito, the crib’s biggest claim to fame may be that it was once featured in a Notorious B.I.G. video for his song “Juicy.”

According to Curbed Hamptons, the home was first listed in 2007 for the hugely-overpriced sum of $30 million, the price dropped in 2011 to $9.9 million, and finally sold for a mere $3 million later that year. It then re-emerged on the market just a few months later for $10.97 million. No surprise, it didn’t sell. Quite likely, the stipulation that the home cannot be torn is detracting potential buyers.

Now, in an effort to “get money,” the owner is planning on renovating the 984 Noyac Path property because as Biggie said, “We can’t change the world unless we change ourselves.” It is now up for sale for an arbitrary $8.495 million. For that price one lucky owner can acquire the 12,000-square-foot, 7-bedroom house along with 9 acres of land, an oddly shaped pool and a 32-foot-tall pyramid.
