British steak chain comes to New York City

Hawksmoor London Steakhouse

The words ‘British’ and ‘steak’ don’t necessarily evoke a great deal of confidence.

However, that might change when the much-loved London steakhouse chain Hawksmoor opens their first stateside location in 3 World Trade Center late next year.

The move could be considered a bold one – Brits trying to serve up steak to New Yorkers? Seems dicey.

But partners Will Beckett and Huw Gott understand the risks, “I am under no illusion whatsoever that it’s very, very stupid to go somewhere and say, ‘That thing that you all love, here’s something better.’ We won’t do that,” Beckett told Bloomberg.

The duo explain that they are keen to stay humble while finding a balance between New York and the Hawksmoor.

While best known for steak, the restaurant is also serving up signiture tipples like the Espresso ‘Martini’, the Hawksmoor Fruit Cup and The Dandy, which is lavish combination of Cognac stirred with Maraschino & Bénédictine, topped with Champagne

We just hope they bring their traditional Sunday roasts with them.
