Kevin Abosch might just be Silicon Valley’s favorite photographer. He’s known for shooting portraits against a black backdrop, and, according to Business Insider, they have become quite the status symbol among the tech elite.
He also might be one of the most expensive photographers working today. The website reports that, “A simple portrait commission begins at $150,000 and can rise as high as $500,000 if commercial licensing comes into play.” In fact his camera-work is so sought after, he has been offered Ferraris and private jet trips.
Abosch’s subjects – besides Silicon Valley’s movers and shakers – include celebrities and unexpectedly, vegetables.
Johnny Depp, Malala Yousafzai, Vanessa Redgrave, Steven Spielberg and Yoko Ono have all sat in front of Anosch’s lens. And last year he sold a photograph of a potato for €1 million (just over $1 million).
