What’s the deal with Jerry Seinfeld selling off his Porsches?
The comedian and famous car collector (“Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” anyone?) has decided to embrace the Marie Kondo way of life, selling off at least three of his precious Porsches: a 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder (estimated to fetch $5,000,000-$6,000,000), a 1958 Porsche 356 A 1500 GS/GT Carrera Speedster ($2,000,000-$2,500,000), and a 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 IROC RSR ($1,200,000-$1,500,000) through the auction house Gooding & Company. All of the cars will be sold at the Amelia Island Auction on March 11, 2016, but these three will be featured at the annual Scottsdale Auctions marquee starting January 27th.
“I’ve never bought a car as an investment,” Seinfeld said in Gooding’s press release. “I don’t really even think of myself as a collector. I just love cars. And I still love these cars. But it’s time to send some of them back into the world, for someone else to enjoy, as I have.”
Let’s just hope that none of them smell like a valet’s bad BO!
