Silver-haired and smirking, art tycoon and real estate developer Aby Rosen has listed the penthouse of his latest development for $65 million.
When units at 100 East 53rd Street first hit the market, Rosen told The Real Deal that he was going to avoid the “crazy” prices seen at many other new Manhattan residential developments.
“The city needs housing,” Rosen said. “I think at crazy numbers, [units] aren’t going to move. People need to be realistic about what they want to achieve.”
So apparently $65 million is not in the realm of crazy pricing for Rosen. It’s all relative after all.
The duplex penthouse, on the 60th and 61st floors of the building, weighs in at 6,760 square feet, Leonard Steinberg of Compass, told the Wall Street Journal.
The apartment features views both of Central Park and the East River and has four bedrooms, four bathrooms and a powder room. The penthouse’s great room stretches 44 feet long and ceilings in the gallery rise to 23 feet high – aiding in the display of large works of art.
Building amenities include a library, swimming pool, gym, yoga room and spa.
