You can now bid on a football made by a CFDA fashion designer

Leave it to fashion people to design totally impractical (though beautiful) footballs.

The NFL is auctioning off footballs that were designed by 50 CFDA designers including LLNYC cover star Nicole Miller, Rebecca Minkoff, Alice & Olivia, Betsey Johnson and Francesca Amfitheatrof of Tiffany’s. That Tiffany’s ball is currently the most expensive ($11,550 at this time), which isn’t a total surprise considering it is made from 12 pounds of sterling silver. The rest of them are more, ahem, fancifully designed. Take a look through our favorites and if you really like them, make a bid. The auction ends, appropriately, on Valentine’s Day.

Who: Tiffany & Co.
Current Price: $11,500
The football was handcrafted in Tiffany’s workshop, and took 45 hours to make.

Who: Alice & Olivia
Current Price: $500.00
No, this looks nothing like a football, but it is covered in Swarovski crystals.

Who: Illesteva
Current Price: $550.00
This might be one of the cutest dolls we’ve ever seen. Though it would be a lot cheaper to buy a pair of Illesteva glasses and put them on a football.

Who: Nicole Miller
Current Price: $600.00
The Mexican Day of the Dead is not what most people think of when they think about football, but apparently Nicole Miller does!

Who: Betsey Johnson
Current Price: $500.00
Betsey Johnson used to be a cheerleader (no wonder she loves doing splits so much!) and she went full rah-rah on this football, which has over a thousand gold rosettes and vintage mannequin hands.

Who: Rachel Zoe
Current Price: $550.00
This is perhaps the least-football like of them all, but Zoe tells it like it is: “I love anything gold that sparkles, need I say more? It’s everything I love!”

Who: Rebecca Minkoff
Current Price: $550.00
This looks painful to throw, so we guess you shouldn’t?

Who: Vita Fede – Cynthia Sakai
Current Price:
Apparently, this is what “a sexy, feminine football” looks like.
