What’s better than one dog? Three dogs!
At least, that seems to be Barry Diller, the billionaire media executive, and his wife Diane von Furstenberg’s attitude. According to Page Six, the wealthy couple have cloned their beloved Jack Russell terrier Shannon (the Post did not report on whether Shannon is still alive), into not one, but two different puppies. That’s a strong commitment to one dog!
As we previously reported, the process of cloning your dog involves wrapping him in wet blankets and throwing him in a freezer. The company that does the cloning, Sooam Biotech Research Foundation in Seoul, South Korea, charges $100,000.
According to Page Six, Shannon was quite the mischievous little doggie, who ran back and forth on the roof of Diller’s hacienda during his pre-Oscars picnic, stealing attention away from the movie stars. Diller himself had to get her down from the roof.
She was also quite spoiled, and lived in a “custom-made, neoclassical doghouse.” We hope her clones get an equally grand living establishment!
