Actress Michelle Williams has lived in Brooklyn before it was cool (ok, not really, but she’s been there a while), and in June, she went ahead and bought herself an absolutely perfect pre-war mansion in Prospect Park South for $2.5 million.
Though the mansion looked like a dream, even the listing noted that “the right amount of tender love and care” was needed to restore the home to its original glory. Thankfully, being a movie star has its perks and Williams has just filed plans with the city to renovate the property. Hurray!
According to Brownstowner, which first spotted the plans, Williams is fixing up the south elevation, replacing the siding, replacing a plain door with a stained glass one, enlarging the back porch so that it’s twice the size it is now and moving the kitchen back to its original location on the ground floor. The interior renovations are estimated to cost $36,000.
Her proposal comes before the Landmarks Preservation Committee on Tuesday. Wish her luck!
