It’s Queen Elizabeth’s 90th birthday and this is how the UK is celebrating

Today, Queen Elizabeth turns 90!

And it’s her actual birthday too, not just her official birthday (that’s in June.)

During her reign she’s seen 12 Prime Minsters, 12 presidents and 7 popes come and go. She’s been shot at, faced stalkers and been an honorary Bond-girl. She’s owned over 30 corgis and she sent her first e-mail in 1976 from a British Army Base. And if that wasn’t impressive enough – while still a princess during World War II, she trained as a mechanic and military truck driver, making her the only female royal to have entered the armed forces and the only living head of state who served in World War II. Plus, she’s the longest reigning queen regent in history. No big deal.

Naturally the UK’s celebrations are in full swing:

Happy birthday Ma’am ? #londonmiscellaneous
