The Pierre Hotel penthouse is back! The triplex apartment at the top of the legendary hotel has lingered on and off the market since it was first listed in 2013 for a whopping $125 million. The price dropped considerably since then, and was taken off the market in October when it went for $63 million.
Now, the Wall Street Journal reports, the 16-room penthouse is once again on the market for $57 million, and this time it has a whole new look. The owner of the penthouse, Barbara Zweig (the ex-wife of Martin Zweig), hired the firm Interior Marketing Group to redesign the apartment and give it “a more contemporary living style,” according to the broker Mary K. Rutherfurd. From what we can tell, that means stripping out a lot of the old and fussy furnishings and replacing them with newer and sleeker items.
The apartment spans the 41st through the 43rd floor and has four terraces, four kitchens, a sauna, private elevator, five fireplaces, and comes with a daily maid and concierge service and valet parking.
Take a look at the before and after pictures below. Do you think the restoration will make enough of a difference for a sale?
