David Koch isn’t the only master of the universe reduced to hotel living following the outbreak of a fire at 740 Park Avenue – aka “the world’s richest apartment building.”

This summer the famed building promises to be a sea of hard hats  as repairs and renovations can only be undertaken during the summer months so as not to disturb residents. Not only will J. Ezra Merkin and David Koch’s apartment need extensive repairs following the fire that erupted in Merkin’s sauna one month ago, but billionaire Israel “Izzy” Englander will be making some big changes.

Englander plans to finish combining two apartments in the building — one of which he bought in 2014 from the government of France for $71.3 million.

Sources told LLNYC that Englander and his family will live in a presidential suite at a nearby hotel while the renovation are completed on his triplex. David Koch is also said to be residing in a hotel in the area.
