Rosé is passé: here are 6 refreshing summer wines you should try instead: VIDEO

Last week, LLNYC met up with A.J. Ojeda Pons the wine director at The Lambs Club, Geoffrey Zakarian’s Time’s Square mainstay, to discuss his wine picks for the summer season.

Most notably, rosé — the drinking water of the Hamptons — was not on his list. Not that Pons has anything against rosé; far from it. But he told us that he simply wanted to introduce wine lovers to delicate and refreshing alternatives for the warmer months.

Side note: Pons was the official winner of Penfolds’ — Australia’s leading winemaker — and GQ’s U.S. Best Dressed Somm contest. We thought he looked rather natty ourselves.

He picked out three whites and three reds for your poolside pleasure. Check them out below and watch the video for his tasting notes.
