Dubai may be a playground for the richest people in the world — complete with underwater tennis courts, (both of) the tallest towers in the world and an interior rain forest — but those visiting the city are often faced with a difficult question: Where is the best, most expensive, most bragworthy place to eat?
Well, we’re happy to report that those dark days are over. The international director of Michelin Guides, Michael Ellis, recently said at the Global Restaurant Investment Forum that it is “only a matter of time before the Michelin Guide comes to Dubai,” according to Time Out Dubai. Oh boy!
Ellis did not give a timeline for when the guide will come out, but did hint that it could come as soon as next year. At the moment, there are twenty Michelin-star chefs with restaurants in the UAE, including Jean Georges Vongerichten, Wolfgang Puck, Gordon Ramsay and Nobu Matshuhisa. Michelin’s news could be a great opportunity for them to add yet another few stars to their already extremely impressive resumes.
