It is quite possibly the largest apartment in Australia, and with an asking price of 27.5 million AUD ($20.2 million), it’s the country’s priciest listing, too. The sprawling apartment in East Perth hit the market last week, and if it sells at that ask, the penthouse will become the most expensive apartment ever sold in Australia.
The huge 9,569-square-foot duplex penthouse has six bedrooms, eight bathrooms and three kitchens. But its over-the-top amenities are what makes it truly stand out.
There’s a temperature-controlled wine cellar, a sound-proofed home theatre, a private rooftop pool and sundeck, a tropical fish tank, private lift access, parking for eight cars, and what looks to be one very un-private bathroom.
And none of that is to mention the massive Buddha sculpture that sits above the green-lit pool. How zen.
Broker Brent Compton, of Ray White South Perth, told Domain that he believes it is the biggest apartment in Australia. “There is nothing comparable to this penthouse in Australia,” he said. “This is a big unit close to the ground, close to the water. It’s one-of-a-kind in Australia.”
Compton went on to explain that he will be aiming for a record breaker. “Nothing would give me greater joy than to set a new benchmark for the country in penthouse sales,” he said. “It’ll be fantastic for Perth but also it would be fantastic for confidence across Australia to achieve a figure like this.”
