The food world turned out in a big way on Tuesday night for the annual Edible Schoolyard NYC Benefit at Skylight at Moynihan Station. The event raised more than $1 million for the nonprofit organization, which educates underserved children around the country about healthy and sustainable eating.
Tons of top chefs turned out for the event, including David Chang (the co-chair), Ruth Rogers, Michael Anthony, April Bloomfield, Jessica Koslow, Danny Meyer and Danny Bowien. Other notable guests included Martha Stewart, host Seth Meyers, Carey Lowell, Waris Ahluwalia and Lela Rose.
In addition to enjoying the excellent food, from some of the top chefs in the city (think: Gramercy Tavern and Per Se), guests mingled in the beautiful space, which the designers Van Wyck & Van Wyck had transformed into a garden complete with vegetarian chandeliers. After dinner, guests participated in a live auction for items including a private dinner with David Chang, a tour and tasting at the Met Breuer, dinner parties at Vice HQ and “bon appetit” magazine, and an ice cream party at Morgenstern’s.
