On Tuesday, a star-studded crowd gathered at the 42nd Street Cipriani to celebrate the Gordon Parks Foundation’s 10th Anniversary Awards Dinner and Auction.
Honored individuals who have dedicated their lives to the arts, included: rapper Kasseem ‘Swizz Beatz’ Dean; fashion-designers Maxwell Osborne and Dao-Yi Chow; Usher; recording artist and actress Janelle Monáe; Alex Soros, son of billionaire George Soros; CBS anchor Gayle King; Arison Arts Foundation president Sarah Arison; actor Andrew Rannells; model Hilary Rhoda; Diana Revson; model Constance Jablonski; fashion designer Prabal Gurung; NFL player Victor Cruz; and model Chanel Iman.
During the evening Leonard Lauder and Judy Glickman Lauder were presented with the 3rd Annual Gordon Parks Patron of the Arts Award by Thomas P. Campbell. One of the event’s co-chairs was Karl Lagerfeld, however he did not attend, choosing instead to donate a trip to Chanel’s Spring/Summer 2017 show and private tour of Coco Chanel’s Rue Cambon apartment.
“Last night was a true testament to the legacy of Mr. Parks and his long lasting impact on the art world and the next generation of artists,” Peter Kunhardt, Jr., Executive Director of The Gordon Parks Foundation, said.
The evening kicked off with a performance of a special musical performance by Jon Batiste and Stay Human and included a live auction.
