Well it seems upon aging, everyone — and everything — ends up heading to South Florida, where the days are slower and the weather is warmer. So why should the iconic Upper East Side watering hole Dorrian’s be any different?
Better pack your preppiest polos and Nantucket reds. The classic pub — which originally opened in New York City 50 years ago — debuted an outpost in Palm Beach last week.
The Palm Beach location will have the look — red and white checked tablecloths — and menu offerings — comfort food such as , chicken pot pie, sliders, pizza, and mac and cheese — as its New York location. Additionally, New York sports games will play on the bar’s tvs. Take that, Marlins and Dolphins!
“It looks and feels like Dorrian’s in New York City,” Keith Zlomsowitch, who ran the New York location for 25 years and is a partner in this new venture, told Town and Country recently. “I want people to feel like it’s another night out in Manhattan—but on the beach!”
Zlomsowitch went on to explain that because many of his New York regulars frequent Palm Beach, it made sense to open a location there.
Let the collar poppin’ begin!
