Food & Wine magazine released its second annual list of the top ten new restaurants in the country, and the number one slot went to none other than a New York City favorite: High Street on Hudson.
The Meatpacking District restaurant, which opened up six months ago, comes from Philadelphia restauranteurs Ellen Yin and Eli Kulp. It serves “housemade breads & pastries, elevated sandwiches, coffee & cocktails.” Restaurant editor Kate Krader recommends the Hickory Town breakfast sandwich with Lancaster bologna, fried egg and pickle mayo, the duck-meatball sub and the honey-glazed chicken with chicken-skin Caesar.
High Street on Hudson may have been the top pick, but it was the only New York restaurant to make it onto the list. The remaining spots are below:
2. Death & Taxes in Raleigh, North Carolina
3. Cala in San Francisco
4. Monteverde Restaurant & Pastificio in Chicago
5. Brewer’s Table at Surly Brewing in Minneapolis
6. Shaya in New Orleans
7. Locol in Los Angeles
8. The Dabney in Washington, DC
9. Launderette in Austin
10. Townsman in Boston
