Art Basel in Miami might be all about the parties, but the original Art Basel fair in Switzerland, which has been going on since 1970, is actually a serious contemporary art fair. And apparently that means it has lots and lots and lots of really weird art. Think suitcases suspended from the ceiling by red cords, performance pieces involving dancing cakes and semi-nude scarecrows/Mr. Potato heads. Don’t believe us? Take a look at our favorite odd pieces from the fair below.
Art Basel Parcours transforms the picturesque historical center of Basel around the city’s iconic cathedral with 19 site-specific artistic interventions by internationally renowned and emerging artists. #ArtBasel #ArtBaselPARCOURS #MCHGroup #ArtBasel2016 #MesseBasel #Basel #Art #Artshow #Kunst #Kunstmesse #ModerneKunst #ZeitgenössischeKunst #ContemporaryArt #ModernArt
