Pour a glass of 2016’s “world’s best wine”


Move over best restaurant lists, it’s time for wine to shine.

This year’s World of Fine Wine’s “World’s Best Wine Lists” awards drew more than 4,500 entries from around the globe – from restaurants to cruise ships – all vying for the glory of being the owner of 2016’s World’s Best Wine List.

The overall global winner was Robuchon au Dôme at Hotel Lisboa in Macau, China. According to World of Fine Wine, around 12,700 different labels are stored in the hotel’s cellars to serve its 15 restaurants. Last year, the judges called the list, “a 585-page masterpiece!”

Bloomberg report that the number of wine lists honored with three stars was 322 – you’ll be pleased to hear that New York is home to 46 of those – but only nine restaurants, including Robuchon, won the judges’ Best in the World awards:
