The Park Avenue apartment where New York real estate queen, Barbara Corcoran, and her husband have lived for the past 18 years has entered contract for $4.9 million., according to Curbed. Kerry Martin Verille and Edith Salton of (no surprise) Corcoran had the listing.
The 2,700-square-foot co-op at 1192 Park Avenue has three bedrooms, three bathrooms and sweeping views of Park Avenue. Last year, Corcoran bought a bi-level apartment with a terrace and views of Central Park at 1158 Fifth Avenue for $10 million.
LLNYC profiled Corcoran in January, where she discussed her company, personal life and current pursuits. She started the Corcoran Group in 1978 and sold it for $66 million in 2001. Now, she is best known for her work on the TV show “Shark Tank.”
“I watched New York go from a middle-class city to a city of the rich. I watched it go from predominantly New Yorkers to mostly internationals. I watched the city totally reinvent itself, and I was the beneficiary of that,” she told LLNYC. “It’s terrible for the people who got pushed out. It’s terrible news for families who can’t afford to live here. But if you can afford it, it is wonderful.”
