In August, Rio De Janeiro will become the first South American city to host the Summer Olympic Games.
Here at LLNYC we thought, rather than report on the sports, the health threats, the infrastructure concerns, the doping scandals, or, most recently the jaguar-shooting, we’d limit our Olympic coverage to what we know best.
Here’s some of our favorite picks from the Rio real estate market:
This Zanine Caldas-designed home has impressive views of the sea, islands and mountains. The six-bedroom spread comes with a home theater, two baths, a jacuzzi, a pool with a waterfall, a gym and a sauna.
This modern 11,840-square-foot home faces the Atlantic Forest, Tijuca Forest, Christ the Redemeer statue and Parque Lage. It has three bedrooms, a gourmet kitchen, four living rooms (arguably three too many) plus a pool and steam room.
The listing describes this pad as, “All charm and luxury mixed with the comfort of nature.” From the look of it, that’s a pretty apt account of this spread, which appears to be made up of eight bungalows set on over 12 acres of oceanfront land.
