One lucky lady is about to receive quite the engagement ring!
An anonymous buyer (who placed his or her bid over the phone) just paid $300,000 for the diamond ring that Donald Trump gave his (second) ex-wife Marla Maples. The ring sold on Wednesday at the Joseph DuMouchelle June Fine Jewels & Timepieces Auction at the Palace hotel, which made a total of $3 million.
According to the Daily News, the 7.45-carat ring has 16 graduated diamonds and was made by Harry Winston. After Maples and Trump divorced in 1999, Maples auctioned it off for charity — a move Trump was none-too-pleased to hear about “It seems pretty tacky to me. It’s really ridiculous,” he told the Post. Joseph DuMouchelle also handled that sale of the diamond, which went for $110,000 in 2000.
Maples and Trump were married in 1991, following the famous split of him and Ivanka Trump. The couple has one daughter together, Tiffany, who has become quite the Instagram celebrity.
