Jimmy Choo co-founder has listed her UES penthouse with amazing shoe closet for $60K-a-month

Jimmy Choo co-founder Tamara Mellon has not had much luck unloading her penthouse apartment at 3 East 95th Street, which has been on the market since 2014 (originally for $34 million, now for $27 million). And so she did what anyone else in her position would do: try to rent it out. For $60,000-a-month.

We guess that’s the going rate for a 7,140-square-foot penthouse on the Upper East Side. According to 6sqft, which first noticed the rental listing, Mellon bought the pad from Charles Bronfman Jr., the heir to the Seagram’s fortune (city records show she paid $20 million for it in 2008).

The beautiful apartment is in the Carhart mansion, which was designed by Horace Trumbauer as a Louis XVI Parisian townhouse. The penthouse, which has been totally updated, has five bedrooms, six bathrooms, more than 5,000 square feet of outdoor space (including an outdoor television), an enclosed solarium and — obviously — an amazing walk-in closet currently filled with Mellon’s shoe collection. We wonder if its included in the rental price…
