Insane closet (and the house it’s in) is headed to auction

Usually when we talk about closets here on LLNYC, they’re very much secondary to the homes that surround them. But for this Texas home – which is hitting the auction block at the end of the month – you can forget the rest of the house. has dubbed it the “world’s most famous closet,” and while that’s a rather bold declaration, there’s no doubt that it’s impressive.

The three-story, 3,000-square-foot space (and we’re still just talking about the closet here), belongs to entrepreneur Theresa Roeme and her husband, Lamar. It contains over 30 years of fashion finds: vintage purses, jewelry, and her first Louis Vuitton handbag and her first signed pair of Christian Louboutin heels. Plus it has a floating staircase, retail display lighting, state-of-the-art sound system, vanity station, and custom Champagne bar.

The rest of the 17,315-square-foot residence is pretty swanky too. Located in an elite enclave bordering a golf course near Houston, it comes with nine bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, three half-baths, a wine lounge, a home theater, a chef’s kitchen, a pool, and outdoor stone waterfalls and fire pits.

The starting price for the July 30 auction is $5 million. []
