Gillian Hearst-Shaw, the granddaughter of newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst and contributing editor for Town & Country, is moving on up…town.

Hearst-Shaw, and her husband, lawyer Christian Simonds have just spent a cool $10 million on an 126-year-old Upper West Side townhouse at 12 West 83rd Street.

The renovated 4,176-square-foot home is just steps from Central Park and comes with five bedrooms, four-and-a-half bathrooms, a chef’s kitchen, a library, vaulted ceilings, a garden, a terrace and plenty of ornate, original details. Nancy Candib and Kristin Clark of Brown Harris Stevens handled the sale.

Hearst-Shaw and Simonds, who are expecting their third child, very recently sold their three bedroom residence at The Sheffield, at 322 West 57th Street, for a little under $5.5 million.
