Does anyone really need a fountain pen filled with world’s oldest cognac?

File this under things you didn’t know you wanted and probably don’t need: this Cognac Pen.

Wealth Solutions — known for its previous foray into booze and writing implement mashups with its “Cognac Watch”, the first watch with the oldest Cognac inside it — has teamed up with Italian pen manufacturer, Montegrappa, to create “The Cognac Pen.”

While the pen is crafted from oak wood and features decorative elements including grapevine motifs along the body, the cap contains something a little special — a drop of Gautier Cognac, what is thought to be the world’s oldest Cognac, dating back to 1762.

Maciej Kossowski, president of Wealth Solutions, said:

“Our search for uniqueness in creating rare collectibles had to lead us to the world to pens. Montegrappa is one of the most respected creators of fountain pens. They did a great job bringing our idea to life. The Cognac pen perfectly fits the great and diverse collection of writing instruments I have seen in Bassano, the home of Montegrappa. I believe it will find favour with both pen and rare spirits aficionados worldwide.”

There is even a his and hers version: a gold pen for men which is priced at 10,000 euros (roughly $11,087), slightly bigger than the sterling silver women’s version which runs 3000 euros or $3326.

Act quick! There are only 100 in silver and 10 in gold up for grabs.
