Shoe designer Jeffrey Campbell snaps up $5M Chelsea pad

Shoe designer Jeffrey Campbell seems to know his way around New York real estate as well as he does a studded platform boot.

According to the Observer, Campbell and his wife, Christine, just snapped up a three-bedroom spread at 213 West 23rd Street. The couple paid $5.04 million for the 3,750-square-foot condo.

Along with 15-foot ceilings, exposed brick walls, and concrete floors, the apartment also comes with a chef’s kitchen complete with granite countertops and a center island, as well as a custom-built 600-bottle wine refrigerator – which is so tall it requires a library ladder. According to the listing, the third bedroom in the loft-like space is currently configured as a, “full swing golf simulator.”

Beth Haley of Corcoran had the listing.

Another – almost entirely lacquer-covered – unit in the building became famous after being featured in Notorious B.I.G.’s 2005 music video for “Nasty Girl.” And also as a pimp’s apartment in an episode of “Law & Order: SVU.” [Observer]
