In New York, residents of luxury apartment buildings have doormen and private restaurants; in LA, where luxury apartment buildings are a relatively new phenomenon, developers are offering its residents in-house Botox sessions. Well, you can’t say they don’t know their audience.
In addition to injections, the 283-unit building, called Ten Thousand, will offer a bar, a boardroom, staffers who can take dogs on walks or pick up groceries, a house Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Cadillac Escalade; four butlers; a pool with underwater speakers; a one-acre private park with a chef’s kitchen and dog park. But perhaps most impressive are “predictive” technologies that alert staffers to events in resident’s lives, so that they can do things for them that they never even asked for — like buying them a surprise birthday cake for instance. Of course, none of this comes cheap: rents in the building start at $8,500 and go up to $25,000 a month.
Perhaps the most shocking part of all of this is that the developers purposefully built Ten Thousand in an area that is walking distance to Rodeo Drive. Yes, walking in LA is an actual selling point for this building. And we thought we had seen everything … [Bloomberg].
