Authors and stars come together to support East Hampton Library: Photos

Big charities work hard to attract bold-face names to help support and promote their causes. But in the Hamptons, where celebrities and socialites are a dime a dozen, even a library fundraiser can turn into a star-studded affair.

The East Hampton Library hosted their 12th Annual Authors Night last week on the Maidstone Lane field in the East Hampton Village. The event benefits the “advancement of the library,” according to the press release.

And the event attracted roughly 100 distinguished authors with over 2,500 book lovers, including philanthropist and author, Jean Shafiroff, founding honorary chair Alec Baldwin, Gwyneth Paltrow, Christie Brinkley, Robert A. Caro, Dick Cavett, Mary Higgins Clark, Nelson DeMille, chef Eric Ripert, Dr. Ruth Westheimer, Michael Gross, Jay McInerney (look out for our profile of McInerney in the upcoming issue of LLNYC), Bridget Moynahan, Ally Hilfiger, Jennifer Esposito, Ina Garten, Elisa DiStefano, Alafair Burke, Janelle Friedman, Patiricia Gussin, and many more.
