Every year Hamptons party people fight for the hottest ticket in town, a pass to Sir Ivan Wilzig’s annual blowout. And naturally that means gate crashers. But this year the eccentric swinger, John Lennon enthusiast and castle owner really stepped up security. Sir Ivan confirmed to the press today that he used drones to monitor the grounds of his Water Mill estate.

24APPRAISAL2-master675-1Wilzig used the drones to monitor the grounds of his 10-acre estate during his 60th birthday, which was “Garden of Eden themed party.” Like at all of the free-love advocate’s events guests were asked to wear minimal clothes. Many guests stripped down completely, but those who wanted to protect their dignity were offered fig leaves.

“People kept disappearing into the woods so Sir Ivan hired a drone to circle the area and not only make sure that no one went missing, but also so no crashers would break in,” a representative for Wilzig told the New York Daily News. “The drone was connected to security cameras.”

But not even drones are foolproof. Two guests were able to give security the slip. Sir Ivan pumped into a couple getting it on in his house around 3 a.m. – two hours after the party ended.

Wilzig found them while getting a sandwich and yelled “What are you doing? You almost gave me a heart attack.” But he didn’t immediately kick them out, “Carry on, as long as you make a little Cane and Able.” [NYDN]
