New weed delivery subscription service gives new meaning to “high”-end

Move over Mary Kay, Mary Jane is in the house. Weed delivery just got a whole lot easier for some. For clients with a medical marijuana license, instead of frequenting a local dispensary with its long lines, a special box of cannabis products can be delivered monthly to their door. Au Box, a firm started by former “Amazing Race” participant/model/and former Miss Iowa, Jessica VerSteeg, allows qualified candidates to sign up for a monthly subscription service of carefully curated weed and related goodies. VerSteeg started her firm with the goal of catering to the female cannabis consumer, but it appears they just might have something to appeal to everyone.

Luxury goods are available to subscribers in three categories of boxes: “edibles”, “sampler” and “intimates”. “Edibles” includes Kush Cake Pops and Altai chocolates to be consumed, while the “sampler” offers various pre-rolled joints, hash and flowers to be smoked.

“Intimates” allows one to soak up cannabis via bath bomb, body oil and comes with luxe 24-karat rolling papers. Not to leave out male 420-aficionados, Au Box, offers a “man” box filled with cannabis beard oil and salves. Even pets can get in on the service; non-psychoactive, CBD-rich (cannabidiol, which has no side effects) doggie treats, CBD shampoos, lotions, waters, and hemp toys are included.

Vogue reports a one-month trial is $150. Subscriptions begin at $140 a month for three months, $120 a month for six months or $99 for a full year.

While Au Box is not the first or only weed subscription service, “built on the idea that marijuana can be enjoyed in many ways,” VerSteeg apparently hopes to smoke the competition. [Vogue]
