The new 22 Thames may overtake Four Seasons Hotel & Residences at 30 Park Place as the tallest residential building in Lower Manhattan.
While the most recent plan for a 70-story, 841-foot tower was disapproved by the city Department of Buildings, the pinnacle could pass 937 feet, the height of the under-construction tower at 30 Park Place. The building will also likely run among New York’s thinnest structures.
Fisher Brothers and the Witkoff Group are jointly developing the building, which will ultimately have over 400 units. Demolition of the site’s former structure was finished in the fall, and completion of the new tower is slated for the spring of 2017, according to Fisher Brothers’ website.
