It was horse week in the Hamptons, and last weekend’s Hamptons Classic drew celebrities and socialites galore. Amongst the weekend’s festivities was a benefit luncheon hosted by equestrian devotees, Georgina Bloomberg and Jimmy Torano.

The luncheon raised funds for the the Riders Closet, which provides special needs and underprivileged riders with equipment, and Give a Buck, which offers scholarships for disabled children and veterans at GallopNYC.

“Winston Churchill eloquently said, ‘There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man.’ We are honored that Douglas Elliman and One River Point are championing our shared cause by hosting this important fundraiser,” said Sissy DeMaria, President of HW+KD Public Relations and Founder of Give a Buck for Special Equestrians.

Bloomberg picked up a $10,000 prize at this year’s classic and Torano won the High Performance Hunter Championship.

Durning the event, where Steve Madden was spotted (watch out for forthcoming horseshoe inspired designs), a stay at Chris Burch’s Nihiwatu was auctioned off for $2,000. The event, sponsored by Douglas Elliman and One River Point, attracted some 150 guests.
