The quirky home of the late musician Frank Zappa has had an interesting year. First, in March, it turned up on eBay with an asking price of $9 million. Then it hit the market proper, with a price tag of $5.49 million, and went on to sell a few weeks ago for $5.25 million.
And now, in the most exciting twist of all, Variety are reporting that the new owner just happens to be Lady Gaga.
The seven-bedroom house is spread over 6,759 square feet and comes with a marble floored foyer, formal living and dining rooms, a library, a sky-lit kitchen and a double height art gallery. Then there’s the dragon mural in the dining room, the porthole windows and doors salvaged from vintage submarines, Zappa’s recording studio and “The Vault,” an underground storage chamber.
Outdoors, there’s a rooftop tennis court, a swimming pool, spa and a stone courtyard. Plus the grounds also hold two guest cottages and an attached guest apartment.
We think Gaga – who released her new video last night – might have found the perfect new home.
