Clark’s shoes

If Soho fits, wear it. Shoe retailer Clark’s is opening its first store in the neighborhood, having signed a lease for 7,600 square feet. Asking rent was $2.2 million a year.

The department store-friendly shoe brand will set up in a two-level, block-through space that has entrances at both 547 Broadway and 118 Mercer Street. Clark’s has about 900 outlets across the U.S., including two in Manhattan, one in Brooklyn and one in Queens.

ABS Partners Real Estate brokers Mark Tergesen, Robert Kempner and John Brod represented the building’s owner. Matt Cohen and Alan Victor of Lansco Corporation represented the tenant.

That part of Broadway sees asking rents of $700 to $750 per foot. Mercer Street asking rents are more in the range of $200 to $300 per foot. [NYP, 4th item]Mark Maurer
