A private island that comes complete with its own humongous stone castle is on the market for $39 million.
The 22-acre “Shelter Island” can be found in Montana’s Flathead Lake. The island’s main, 24,000-square-foot mansion comes with five bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a gourmet kitchen, an observatory, a wine cellar, a gym, an indoor shooting range, and a heated boat stall. Plus there’s a lot of lake views.
According to the listing, “each element has been carefully orchestrated to maximize the visual and emotional impact on every level.”
Then there’s the 2,600-square-foot guest house, which doubles as a boat house. It comes with two bedrooms, two granite fireplaces and a steam room.
The island is also home to a 1,200-square-foot utility facility that houses the generator and a 1,800 square-foot shop that serves as a location for projects and storage.
The island has been flirting with the market for some time; back in 2012 it was asking for a whopping $78 million.
Dawn Maddux and Ross Pickert of Sotheby’s International Realty have the listing.
