Following his $140M judgement, Hulk Hogan snaps up beachfront bungalow

Perhaps Hulk Hogan should send Gawker a “thank you” card. Although we doubt he’ll get a “congratulations” in return.

According to the New York Post, the former pro wrestler has snapped up a $1.6 million beachfront bungalow in Clearwater, Florida. The four-bedroom spread is reportedly next door to the 5,000-square-foot mansion Hogan and his wife, Jennifer Bollea, bought for $3.3 million in 2012.

Listing information and photographs are scarce, but according to Zillow, the 2,062-square-foot home sits on “sparkling white beaches and turquoise Gulf waters” and enjoys panoramic views of the beach from the deck and great room.

Considering his recent windfall, we’re a little surprised he didn’t snap up something bigger.

Back in March, Hogan – real name Terry Gene Bollea – won $140 million in an almost-unprecedented privacy-invasion lawsuit against the gossip website, Gawker.

Hogan sued the website after it published a short video of him having sex with his best friend’s wife.

Nick Denton, the owner of the since-shuttered website, is personally liable for $10 million of the judgement, and – along with filing for bankruptcy – has recently rented out his four-bedroom apartment at 76 Crosby Street in Soho for $14,000 per month. [NYP]
