A lot of people want to punch Turing Pharmaceuticals co-founder Martin Shkreli in the face. And now, the “most hated man in America” is giving one lucky person the chance to actually do it — and raise money for a good cause.
Shkreli, who made headlines when he raised the price of a critical HIV drug by 5,556 percent and then testified in front of Congress at an absolutely infuriating hearing, tweeted about the weird auction on Monday, writing: “I will auction one slap/punch in the face to benefit my friend Mike who passed away & leaves behind a young son who survived cancer. DM bids.”
His friend, Mike Kulich, died in his sleep over the weekend. The money raised would go toward his five-year old son, and Shkreli says he would match it “to a certain point.”
Shkreli first put the auction up on eBay, but the site took it down. Now, it looks like Shkreli is raising money for the cause on GiveForward, and says that he will choose a “winning slapper/puncher” from the pool who donates. May the best (and strongest) person win.
