Rosie’s O’Donnell was apparently unscathed by the Donald’s rambling remarks about her on Monday night’s debate. Her charity, Rosie’s Theater Kids hosted its 13th Annual gala celebration last night at the New York Marriott Marquis in Times Square. The event honored former Mayoral candidate John Catsimatidis and his wife Margo, as well as seven-time Grammy award winner Gloria Estefan.
Other notable guests included BD Wong, Randi Zuckerberg, Steven and Maureen Van Zandt, LLNYC-cover star Tony Danza and Ana Villafañe.
Rosie’s Kids is a charity that provides free in-school programming for low-income students throughout the city to learn about theater and get the opportunity to experience Broadway. Since it was founded in 2003, the charity has helped over 80,000 students.
Though the gala is over, it is still possible to raise money for Rosie’s Theater Kids by bidding on items from their online auction. A few of the experiences include two center orchestra seats to “Hamilton” and a chance to meet the star Javier Munoz afterward; a chance to sit with Gloria Estefan while seeing “On Your Feet” on Broadway; and a chance to have lunch with fashion icon Iris Apfel.
