Kim Kardashian will stop, can stop, posting her bling on social media

It seems everyone has something to say about Kim Kardashian’s recent jewelry heist in Paris.

While many empathize with Kardashian– who was held at gunpoint and robbed of $10 million worth of jewelry — others are quick to point the blame squarely at her. One of these unsympathetic souls is fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld, who told Reuters, “I don’t understand why she was in a hotel with no security … If you are that famous and you put all your jewelry on [social media], you go to hotels where nobody can come near to the room.” The designer, who is rumored to have a close relationship with Kimye, continued, “You cannot display your wealth and then be surprised that some people want to share it with you.”

It appears Kardashian, who has spent much of her life in the public eye and is known for her frequent selfies, is taking heed. Sources close to her told TMZ that she is now going to be far more careful about personal posts on social media. She has been reported saying privately, “Material things mean nothing. It’s not all about the money. It’s not worth it.”

As such there has been nary a peep from her on social media since Monday, indicating that the star may indeed be turning over a new leaf (and without any posts we can’t know for sure if it is a diamond-encrusted one).

What if Kim really does learn to keep her private life to her selfie? Whatever will we do without her frequent scantily clad, blinged out posts? Well, at least we can rely on the rich kids of Instagram to keep us entertained.
