Bill Gates has accomplished a lot in his life: he founded one of the biggest companies in Silicon Valley, he is frequently ranked as the richest man in the world with a net worth of $80 billion and he has pledged to give away the majority of that wealth before he dies through his charity. His reward to himself for this unbelievable success? Cheeseburgers.

Joe Cerrell, a managing director at the Gates Foundation tells the Telegraph in a new profile of the billionaire, that Gates’ eating habits involve: “hotel rooms full of Diet Coke. And cheeseburgers for lunch, no matter who you are. If you get the lunchtime slot with Bill, you’re eating burgers. Someone will always be sent to get bags of McDonald’s. I don’t think Melinda lets him have them at home.”

Gates is far from the only successful man to crave Big Macs: Bill Clinton also loved the golden arches. But it does seem odd that a man obsessed with saving the world from diseases is also addicted to some of the most unhealthy food it is possible to eat. [Telegraph]
